Electrical Sustainability
Negawatt Mindset
A way of being in which awareness of electrical efficiency and conservation opportunities are attentively explored and incorporated in daily behavior.
An investigative and imaginative perspective in which wasted energy is continuously (but not obsessively) perceived and eliminated.
A daily habit, like brushing teeth or eating breakfast, in which electrical services are treated as privileges rather than entitlements and consequently are stewarded continually.
The electrical-energy-equivalent of Nature in which waste is continuously minimized in any process or activity. Waste is inefficient: inefficiency is evolutionarily unsustainable. Waste is a losing survival strategy. Waste is immaturity.
Intention and action to eliminate economic, social and environmental costs associated with the production, distribution and consumption of electricity that bring limited or no benefit and which consume resources that could otherwise be used to create greater economic, social and/or environmental value.
